Clarity

Clarity is the presence or absence of tiny internal or external characteristics, called inclusions. These characteristics are nature’s fingerprints, making every diamond unique and different. There are many kinds of inclusions. Some are quite well-know and may be familiar to you: feathers, clouds, cavities, and the presence of crystals within a diamond. These inclusions are often not visible to the naked eye. For this reason, Husar’s will show you your diamond using a special gem microscope.

Each Diamond is individually graded for clarity using a 10x Diamond Microscope

If 10x magnification does not reveal any inclusions, then the diamond earns the grade of flawless. This type of diamond is very rare and therefore more valuable.

Small Inclusions

If magnification reveals any inclusions, the diamond is assigned a grade along with a scale of 0-10. In addition to a microscope, diamonds are graded by the naked eye. If any inclusion is visible to the unaided eye, it is possible for the clarity grade to drop down even lower on the clarity scale.

Remember, most diamonds have some inclusions. This doesn't mean that a diamond with an inclusion is not a quality diamond. At Husar's we want you to have all the facts necessary for you to make an informed decision you'll be happy with.
